Everyday Liberties in 21st Century Canada

CAGE (Citizens Against Government Encroachment) and the Montreal Economic Institute are happy to present their first co-sponsored annual essay contest.

Essays should address the subject of individual liberties in the modern Canadian context and be of no more than 1,500 words. Essays may be written in either French or English.

Essays should be submitted on or before November 11 (Remembrance Day), 2005, to: d.romano [at] cagecanada.ca and attached as a Word document. The winners will be announced on November 26, 2005.

First Prize: $1,000
Second Prize: $500
Third Prize: $250

If no essay is deemed to be of sufficient quality, the prize money will be added to the winnings of the subsequent essay contest.

Essays of high academic quality submitted as part of this contest will be posted on the CAGE website. Winning entries may be submitted to journals and newspapers for publication under the authors' names.

All essays must be original works of the listed authors.
