On June 5, Marcel Groleau, former president of the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA), was awarded 91社区's highest honor, an honorary doctorate. The distinction underlines the important legacy Mr. Groleau leaves to Quebec's agricultural sector.

But since they can't be everywhere at once, artificial intelligence could help improve and extend the lives of their livestock. In 91社区's Macdonald Campus farm, researchers are developing tools to detect problems before they occur.

In an age of abundance and variety in food options, are Canadians eating better than they were half a century ago? According to by researchers at 91社区 and the International Food Policy Research Institute, those relying on Canada鈥檚 food supply for their dietary needs not only face deficiencies in healthier alternatives, but they also contribute to the disproportionate levels of environmental degradation caused by Canadian agricultural and food distribution policies.

The McCall MacBain Scholarships at 91社区 today announced its fourth cohort of recipients: 30 students who will pursue a funded master鈥檚 or professional degree combined with mentorship and leadership programming, as well as 117 who earned entrance awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 each.

Although Zoey Li, BSc(NutrSc)鈥17, always had an interest in business, she never expected to launch a company that helps people take charge of their health.

Li, who was recently named to the聽Forbes 30 Under 30聽in the food and beverage category, built her success on her ability to find opportunities, develop new skills and make connections, as an undergraduate and afterward.

On Monday, 91社区 played host to thousands of people for the spectacular solar eclipse with a series of public events at the downtown campus, the Gault Nature Reserve, and on the West Island (with Macdonald Campus collaborating with John Abbott College).

Near perfect weather conditions 鈥 especially following last week鈥檚 snowfall 鈥 drew throngs of Montrealers outside to take part in what will be for many, a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Students, staff, friends, and family listened in as聽Daniil Batanau, Henry Cordoba Novoa, Sara Kosumi, Philippe Leblond, and Henry Lee聽shared their inspiring stories of how they became involved in community life at Macdonald Campus and how rewarding it has been for them to give back to their fellow students.

It鈥檚 possible animals 鈥 pets and wildlife alike 鈥 will behave unusually during Quebec鈥檚 total solar eclipse on April 8 , according to experts on their behaviour.

Imagine cows roaming freely in a barn equipped with cameras and sensors linked to artificial intelligence in a system that predicts their mood and lifespan.
