This non-credit Professional Development Certificate program aims to develop professionals equipped with an essential blend of competencies and skills required to succeed in any modern collaborative workplace environment. Focus is placed on systems and design thinking, creativity, innovation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The program is offered in English and must be completed within 2 years.
As per minimum admission requirements of the School of Continuing Studies:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Applicants between the ages of 18-21 must have a minimum of:

Applicants from Quebec : DCS, DEC, or the equivalent

Applicants from other Canadian Provinces: 1 year of full-time university

International applicants: Equivalent of the 1 year of full-time university
Applicants who are 21 years of age or older may be considered for admission as mature students.
Upon completion of this program, you should be able to:
- Apply systems thinking and modelling tools to solve complex organizational and/or business challenges
- Use simulation software to understand the behaviour of a system
- Apply forecasting methods to identify future business opportunities
- Use creative & collaborative tools to develop new business models, products and services
- Apply design thinking tools to foster innovation
- Increase your professional effectiveness through collaborative skill-building: emotional intelligence, communication (including active listening), conflict management, influence, and facilitation
- Successfully develop and maintain high-performing teams
- Write effective business documents to inform, persuade and motivate others
To be admitted to a Professional Development Certificate, proof of English proficiency is not required. However, since the language of instruction is English, a good command of English is required in order to perform well in courses and complete the program.
Professional Development Certificates are non-credit programs and as such, are not eligible for听financial听aid听or awards such as Quebec鈥檚 loans and bursaries program (AFE).
Please note that tuition fees paid for courses as part of Professional Development Certificates are eligible for official tax receipts (T2202A and Relev茅 8).

Please follow these steps to submit your application to a Professional Development Certificate program:
STEP 1: PREPARE
- Choose the Professional Development Certificate you would like to apply to.
- Ensure you have a valid email address and credit card on hand to pay the application fee (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).
- From the list of programs, select the certificate you would like to apply for. Click 鈥淟earn More鈥. Then click on 鈥淎pply Now鈥 at the top of the page.
- Review the admission requirements for the program to ensure you meet the criteria.
- Ensure you have all necessary documentation required for your application as indicated in the 鈥淒ocuments Required鈥 section.
STEP 2: APPLY
- Scroll down and click on 鈥淎pply Now鈥 in the righthand column of the screen.
- Review the information displayed and click 鈥淎pply Now鈥.
- If you have credentials, log in. If not, create an account.
- Complete the rest of the application with all required information.
- Once you have applied online, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application.
STEP 3: CHECK STATUS
- You can check the status of your application at any time using Athena.
- Once a decision has been made, admitted students will receive a notification by email confirming their admission to the program, along with registration instructions. You can then register for courses online during the appropriate registration period.
