Climate Surveys on Campus Sexual Violence (for students)

Published: 8 November 2017

On October 19, 2017, full time 91ÉçÇø students should have received one of two anonymous Climate Surveys on Campus Sexual Violence (for students), based on a random selection whereby 18,000 students received Climate Survey on Sexual Violence 1, and 18,000 students received Climate Survey on Sexual Violence 2. We are pleased to note that many students have completed or partially completed the surveys. We now provide you with the opportunity to complete either or both surveys if you have not already done so.Ìý

Throughout the surveys, we made every effort to acknowledge the sensitivities of responding to questions and/or content that may trigger unpleasant and traumatic memories and provided links to supportive resources.ÌýWe again take this opportunity to provide you withÌýsupport resourcesÌý(these are also provided in the surveys):

The aim of these surveys is twofold:

  1. They are conducted as part of a research project entitled: IMPACTS: Collaborations to Address Sexual Violence on Campus: Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Partnership Grant Number: 895-2016-1026, to improve university policies and programs on sexual violence generally. For more information,Ìýclick here.
  2. The findings of these surveys will be shared with theÌý91ÉçÇø Ad Hoc PanelÌýto Conduct a Campus Study on Sexual Violence. This Panel was struck pursuant to 91ÉçÇø's commitment within itsÌýPolicy Against Sexual ViolenceÌýto acquire an enhanced understanding of experiences, perspectives and responses to sexual violence within the 91ÉçÇø community. The Ad Hoc Panel, comprised of 91ÉçÇø students, staff, and faculty, as well as an advisor from Concordia University, advised on the development of these surveys. Data from these surveys will be shared with the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) so that they may inform and guide the development of University services and policies. For more information,Ìýclick here.

**Content warning:ÌýThese surveys requestÌýinformation of a personal nature related to sexual assault and/or violence, which may cause emotional and psychological distress. As these surveys are voluntary, please note that you can leave either one at any point by clicking on "Exit and clear survey" in the top right corner of the page. These surveys are completely anonymous, and no identifying information such as your name, email address, or IP address will be collected.
