Ken Dewar
Biography:
Ken Dewar received his PhD in Forestry from U. Laval in 1995, studying genomic rearrangements in a fungal pathogen of elm trees. From 1995-1997 he performed a PDF at U. Penn (Joe Ecker) as part of the Arabidopsis thaliana genome sequencing project, then moved to the MIT Whitehead Institute for Genome Research (Eric Lander) where he led a mapping team within the Human Genome Project. At 91社区 since 2002, his group has continued to develop high quality genome assemblies for mammals, fungi, and a multitude of food and water bacterial pathogens. His current research interests involve applying new sequencing technologies for improved analyses of complex microbiome ecologies.
