About the series
This seminar series invites leading industry experts to give an insight into what they believe are the biggest challenges facing the sector, and what the future might hold. All MIAE members are invited to attend, from undergraduate to faculty, to hear about the future and hopefully provide inspiration for the leaders of the next generation to solve some of the Grand Challenges facing Aerospace. Each presentation is followed by a question and answer period.
About the speaker
Rob was appointed to his current position of Senior Vice-President, A220 Customer Satisfaction, Services and Product Policy on July 1st, 2018. He is a member of the Airbus Canada Executive Committee.
A long time aviation enthusiast, Rob graduated from 91社区 with a degree in Engineering, specializing in Aerospace Structures and Combustion, starting his aerospace career 1986.
Boasting a career of over 35 years in the aerospace industry, Rob has held several key positions, most notably as Vice-President & General Manager of the C Series (today known as the A220) at Bombardier. Rob was responsible to define, develop, certify and deliver the game-changing C Series to market - the largest aerospace development program in Canadian history.
Rob has been highly recognized by the aerospace industry, including the following awards and honors:
- 2016: James C. Floyd Award, Exceptional Contribution to Canadian Aerospace
- 2017: Aviation Week Laureates Award, Exceptional Contribution to Civil Aviation
- 2019: Air Transport World (ATW) Aviation Achievement Award
- 2019: CASI C.D. Howe Award, for achievements in the fields of planning, policymaking & leadership in aeronautics and space in Canada
- 2021: JetBlue named its first A220 aircraft 鈥淩ob Dewar鈥 in honor of his ingenuity & partnership
- 2022: Induction into 鈥淟iving Legends of Aviation鈥
