Ken Dewar
Associate Professor in Human Genetics
ACCEPTING GRADUATE STUDENTS
Dr. Ken Dewar is an associate professor in the department of Human Genetics. Prior to joining 91社区, Dr. Dewar was a research scientist at the MIT/Whitehead Institute Center for Genome Research (now the Broad Institute) working on the Human Genome Project. Dr. Dewar obtained his PhD from Laval University working on fungal genomics and trained as a post-doc at the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Arabidopsis thaliana genome sequencing project.
Research Area: Genomics & Bioinformatics
My research intersects advances in high throughput DNA sequencing and bioinformatics analyses to identify and understand genome structural rearrangements. With a focus on microbial genomes and microbiomes, I am interested in improving data quality, turn around time to results, and reduced costs.
