On October 19th, alumni gathered at the Ingram School of Nursing for tours of the Ingram School of Nursing’s (ISoN) spacious and modern clinical teaching laboratories led by Professor Hugo Marchand, and a special Centennial presentation prepared by Professor Madeleine Buck (retired) highlighting the milestones in the School’s 100-plus years of leadership and innovation in nursing education.
Alumni in attendance included a graduate of the Class of ’66 and four members of the BScN Class of ’78, all of whom appreciated the chance to reconnect with their former classmates over tea and scones.
Several faculty members were on hand to answer questions about the ISoN’s pedagogical approaches, while student ambassadors from the Nursing Undergraduate Society and the Nursing Graduate Students Association welcomed and engaged with alumni. All agreed that while pedagogical approaches have changed over the years, what has not changed is the ISoN’s commitment to excellence in nursing education.
