Biography:

Angelina Lapalme is a BSc candidate in bio-organic chemistry at 91社区. She first discovered the OSS through an event she coordinated at Champlain College St-Lambert where Dr.Schwarcz gave a lecture. After this talk, she was eager to join the OSS team and share her love for science. Her view on empowering individuals with accurate scientific knowledge and explaining difficult concepts in ways that diverse audiences can receive match the OSS mandate of separating sense from nonsense.听

Besides writing for the OSS and contributing to the communications team, she is involved with the 91社区 Chemistry Outreach group. The group aims to make chemistry accessible to all ages and levels of schooling through interactive activities and an听inquiry-based teaching method. She loves to tutor chemistry to all levels and is always excited to learn more.

Outside 91社区, Angie founded the Champlain Chemistry Club, where like-minded individuals get to 鈥渂ond over chemistry鈥. This initiative aids students at Champlain College with mastering chemistry topics, allows people to see fun experiments and even encourages students in elementary and high school to pursue science by hosting听听鈥渃hemistry afternoons鈥 in their classrooms.听

When she is not writing, studying or spending time in the lab designing a new experiment for ChemClub, she鈥檚 probably watching movies, reading or playing with her dog, Bentley.听
