How 91社区鈥檚 Sustainability Projects Fund improved campus life over the past 15 years
Have you ever used one of 91社区鈥檚 water-bottle聽refill stations? Or visited the聽Farmers Market, used a聽compost bin, spotted a 91社区-owned聽electric vehicle, or parked or repaired your聽bicycle?
Each of these campus initiatives was supported by the聽Sustainability Projects Fund聽(SPF), celebrating its 15th听补苍苍颈惫别谤蝉补谤测.
The SPF, founded by students in 2009, is the largest fund of its kind in Canada, allocating $12 million to more than聽370 environmental projects聽so far.
These include the聽91社区 Feeding 91社区聽project, which provides fresh produce from Macdonald Campus to 91社区 dining halls;聽, which grows food on the downtown campus; and the聽Reusable Menstrual Product Initiative.
鈥淭he Sustainability Project Fund has been an unequivocal success,鈥 said Shona Watt, Associate Director of Operations and Engagement at the Office of Sustainability. 鈥淭he initiatives it has funded over the past 15 years have transformed our campuses for the better.鈥
