January 26, 2021
Dear members of the 91社区 community,
With the Winter semester well underway, I would like to take a moment to talk about the planning that is currently being done in anticipation of our Summer 2021 term.
There is, understandably, growing optimism as COVID-19 vaccines are rolled out across Quebec and Canada. Even in light of such positive developments, there is still much uncertainty. Summer 2021 teaching and learning activities will therefore be delivered primarily through remote platforms.
Essential in-person Tier 1 activities, however, will be implemented in the same way as during Fall 2020 and Winter 2021. This includes critical laboratories, clinical activities, project courses, and other experiential in-person components of courses, including those required for graduating students. Some Faculties are planning to offer in-person field courses or internships and may offer additional Tier 2 activities, which are opportunities for in-person teaching for students who are in the Montreal area. Students will be notified about any such opportunities in their programs.
As with all University planning since the beginning of the pandemic, we will continue to follow public health directives and evaluate the evolving situation. 91社区 remains committed to successfully delivering our academic programs while providing a safe environment for our entire community.

Sincerely,
Professor Christopher Manfredi
Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)
