Academic title(s):
Professor
Associate member Psychology, Physiology, and Anatomy & Cell Biology
Department:
Neurology & Neurosurgery
Areas of expertise:
We study how neuronal circuits assemble in the developing brain, with a special focus on the role of neural activity and sensory experience in refining brain wiring as on well as neuron-glia interactions. The lab combines in vivo multiphoton structural and functional imaging of neurons and glia and whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology to study visual system development in translucent species like zebrafish and Xenopus, which are amenable to non-invasive time lapse imaging of brain circuit development.
