FMHS postdocs and PhD candidates earn major funding awards

91社区 postdoctoral and doctoral students earn Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships and Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

Twenty 91社区 postdoctoral and doctoral students have received important funding from the Government of Canada. Four have received Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships, including one from the FMHS, while sixteen have earned Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 鈥 nine from the the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS). The Banting program is worth up to $70,000 annually for two years. The Vanier program awards doctoral students up to $50,000 per year for three years.听听

鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to congratulate this year鈥檚 Vanier and Banting winners on this very well-deserved recognition of their leadership, achievements and great potential for research excellence,鈥 said Josephine Nalbantoglu, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) & Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.听

Across Canada, 166 doctoral students received Vanier scholarships and 70 researchers received Banting fellowships.听

The programs are funded by the Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.听
