Overview
Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its motion and behaviour through space and time, and the related entities of energy and force. Geophysics is also a natural science and it is concerned with the physical processes and physical properties of the Earth and its surrounding space environment, and the use of quantitative methods of their analysis.
This joint program in Physics and Geophysics provides a firm basis for graduate work in geophysics and related fields as well as a sound preparation for those who wish to embark on a career directly after graduating.

Careers
Physics is a very broad discipline, meaning that you will have a diverse range of career opportunities after graduation. Geophysicists are in demand in both the public and private sector and can work for mining, oil, and natural gas companies looking for deposits of petroleum or minerals. You can also choose to pursue graduate studies and work in research in a more specialized field.
Depending on your interests and experience, you could become a professional:
- Geophysicist
- Systems Analyst
- Laboratory Technician
- Forensic Laboratory Technician
