Preparation for the first visit:Â
For the first GENGI clinic appointment, you should bring your Jewish General Hospital (JGH) card and Medicare card. If you do not yet have a JGH card, please present yourself to room E-0014 (which is near the hospital’s Legare entrance) to obtain one 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.ÌýÌý
The first visit:Â
GENGI appointments are held in the Cancer Prevention Centre: E-740 (7th floor in Pavilion E). Â
Your first appointment will be scheduled for 30 minutes. You will meet with both Dr. Galiatsatos and Ms. Rezoug. They will review any changes to your personal medical history as well as your family history of cancer. They will also ask about any previous cancer screening procedures you have had such as a colonoscopy. Moreover, they will go over the appropriate cancer screening that you might require and how often you should have certain tests done. Arrangements for these tests will be made according to your convenience. There will be no direct charges to have these screening tests.ÌýÌý
During the session, you will be given the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. If you feel that you require more time with the GENGI team, it is possible to continue a discussion at a follow-up appointment or by phone.  Â
After the first visit:Â
After the first appointment, you may contact Ms. Rezoug if you have any questions regarding the topics that were discussed during the session.ÌýÌý
Should you be found to require additional tests, you will be contacted by either Dr. Galiatsatos or Ms. Rezoug.ÌýÌý

Unless additional tests are required, most patients will be asked to return for their next GENGI appointment one year later. For more information on future appointments, please visit the clinic’s section for follow-up.ÌýÌý
GENGI sessions are held on a once-per-month basis and are generally scheduled for the second Monday of the month. The session takes place from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM. If you are a new patient to the GENGI clinic, your appointment will last 30 minutes. If your appointment is a follow-up appointment, it will last 15 minutes.ÌýÌý
Normally the Coordinator or her assistant will be the one to contact you to schedule an appointment that is convenient for you. You will be provided with the dates and times available and asked to choose your preferred appointment time.ÌýÌý
