Travels in Pharmacoepidemiology: From Clinical Care to Epidemiologic Methods
ALL ARE WELCOME
Abstract:
Dr. Ernst will review his involvement in some of the major controversies in respiratory medicine and the contribution of epidemiology to their resolution. He will then describe more recent developments in pharmaco-epidemiologic methods as illustrated in recent studies carried out with the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies (CNODES). Success in pharmaco-epidemiology, defined as having a significant impact on clinical care, relies on the coming together of clinical and methodologic expertise.
