Professor Filion's research interests include pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety, knowledge synthesis, and cardiovascular epidemiology. He uses large, population-based databases to study the safety of commonly prescribed medications, with a particular interest in cardiovascular medications and cardiovascular outcomes. He is the Co-Lead of the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Team of the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies (CNODES), a pan-Canadian drug safety network funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. In addition, ProfessorÌýFilion is involved in a number of systematic reviews and meta-analyses examining the efficacy and safety of cardiovascular therapies.
