Position Summary:

A Course Lecturer assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:

a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
b) delivery of the Course;
c) evaluation of students;
d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
f) upon request, review of their students鈥 grades;
g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;

Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.


RUSS 211 001 Elementary Russian Language 2听(3 credits)

Teaching Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (10:35-11:25 am)

Course Start/End Date: January 6 to April 11, 2025

Course details: Russian Language; continuation of RUSS 210.

Teaching Qualification Requirements: M.A. or Ph.D. in Russian or registered in the Russian Studies graduate program at 91社区. Native or near native fluency in Russian required.

Experience: A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a graduate student in Russian Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at 91社区. Course lecturers must demonstrate a familiarity with the course materials used in Russian Studies language courses.

ITAL 290 - 001 鈥 Commedia dell鈥滱rte (3 credits)

Teaching Schedule: Fridays, 2:35-5:25 pm

Course Start/End Date: January 6 to April 11, 2025

Course details: Playhouses, actors, stage techniques, masks and scenarios of the "Commedia Dell'Arte". 听This course consists of an academic component as well as scripting, directing and organizing a performance. This course is taught in Italian.

Teaching Qualification Requirements: M.A. or Ph.D. in Theatre studies or in Italian studies with specialization or experience in theatre. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and fluency in English.

Experience: Demonstrable experience as instructor of a course at a similar level.

Course details:听Selected topics in Italian culture (topics may vary and may concentrate on one or more of the following areas: geography, history, music, art history, political science, and/or literature.听 This course is taught in English.

Teaching Qualification Requirements: Ph.D. in Italian or registered in the Italian Studies graduate program at 91社区 at the ABD level. Native fluency in English. Fluency or near native fluency in Italian, an asset.

Experience:听A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a PhD student in Italian Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at 91社区.

Education: 听Ph.D. 听in German or ABD in the German Studies graduate program at 91社区. Native or near native fluency in German required. Preferred demonstrated expertise on film studies.

Experience:听A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be an ABD 听graduate student in German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at 91社区.

Position Summary:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, hosting and facilitating discussions in-person and/or on Zoom with small groups of students; grading of assignments; attending lectures and reading course materials; communication with students regarding MyCourses, submission of assignments, other tasks associated with the position/course, etc.

Qualifications:
Positions only available to registered 91社区 graduate students with the appropriate academic background. Previous study in the subject of the course.
