Third Time's the Charm:
Surgery Leadership Program Triumphs with
First In-Person Edition

The 2024 Department of Surgery Leadership Program marked a milestone as it was conducted entirely in person for the first time. Now in its third edition, the program continues to enhance leadership capabilities among healthcare professionals. This year, participants from three key departments鈥擡NT, Surgery, and Anesthesia鈥攃ollaborated through interactive and immersive sessions designed to tackle the unique challenges of leadership in healthcare.
Building Leaders in Healthcare
The program consisted of seven comprehensive sessions, covering topics such as Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Styles, Building High-Performance Teams, Conflict Management, and Leading Change. The in-person format fostered deeper connections and enriched discussions, culminating in impactful final presentations and a celebratory closing ceremony where participants reflected on how they applied their new skills in their professional environments.
Expert-Led and Practice-Oriented
Renowned faculty, including Jane Reichman Van Toch and Miriam Carver, guided the sessions with their expertise in leadership development, conflict resolution, and team dynamics. The curriculum emphasized practical frameworks and tools, ensuring participants could translate their learning into actionable strategies for their roles in healthcare leadership.
