Farhan Bhanji

FARHAN BHANJI, MD, MSc (Ed), FRCPC, FAHA, is a Pediatrician, a Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care), Director of Education at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Health Sciences Education. His clinical interests are in Extracorporeal Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Transport, Cardiac Critical Care as well as Global Health. Farhan is a leader in Resuscitation Education for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Chairs the Educational Science and Programs Subcommittee of the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care and Co-Chairs the Education, Implementation and Teams Taskforce of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.

Farhan graduated from the Masters of Science (in Health Professions Education) program at Maastricht University in 2008 and has been fortunate to receive the Kaplan Award for clinical teaching from the Pediatrics residents at 91社区 in 2007 and the New Educator鈥檚 Award from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME) in 2009. He was the inaugural recipient of the Richard and Sylvia Cruess Scholar in Medical Education and serves as the Director of the Fellowship in Health Professions Education at 91社区.

In 2013, Farhan was the Visiting Professor at the Medical Education Development Centre at Gifu University in Japan.

Current research interests: Assessment; CanMEDS; simulation-based education; optimizing resuscitation related education; and technology enhanced instruction to improve clinical training.
