厂补肠谤茅-颁舱耻谤 Hospital

The Sacr茅-Coeur Hospital opened in 1898 with the inauguration of a small hospital for patients with serious disease such as cancer (the Hospital for the Incurables). At first located in downtown Montreal, in 1900, the hospital moved to a larger building on D茅carie Boulevard. After this building was destroyed by fire, in 1926, the Hospital听moved to a larger site on Gouin Boulevard in north Montreal, at which time it took its present name. Initially, it specialized in the treatment of tuberculosis. This was soon followed by the development of orthopedic surgery (Dr. 脡douard Samson, 1931) and thoracic surgery (Dr. Norman Bethune, 1933). In 1973, the Hospital became a tertiary care trauma center for Western Quebec,听together with the Institut 础濒产别谤迟-笔谤茅惫辞蝉迟, to provide psychiatric care and听affiliated with the University of Montreal as a research and teaching center.
